Public Statement: Anti-Social Behaviour
Abberton and Langenhoe Parish Council is asking residents to remain vigilant
following recent concerns about anti-social behaviour in the area of Markes Piece
and the children’s playground adjacent to the Village Hall.
There have been a few recent incidents involving reckless criminal damage, dog-
fouling and general littering. These incidents are unacceptable and have an impact
on us all, affecting the safety, cleanliness and wellbeing of our community.
If you witness anti-social behaviour, please report it promptly to Essex Police using
their online reporting service or by calling 101. In an emergency, or if there is an
immediate risk to safety, always call 999.
The repairs to the playground surface are expected to cost in excess of £30,000,
placing a substantial and avoidable burden on local resources. This significant
expense highlights the serious impact that damage to community facilities can have
on the whole parish.
Residents are also encouraged to notify Abberton and Langenhoe Parish Council so
that local concerns can be monitored and raised with the appropriate authorities.
When making a report, please include as much detail as possible, including the
police incident number if you have one and the date, time, location, description of the
incident and any evidence available.
